On the set of "THE SIMPLE LIFE" being set to air on December 2, 2003 with Paris Hilton, Police said they are investigating a woman's allegations that she was raped in the oceanfront home where MTV is filming the latest season of its "Real World" reality program. The 22-year-old woman, who is not a cast member of the television show, said she believes she was assaulted while unconscious by a man who is also not a "Real World" cast or crew member.

Police served a search warrant on the house on Nov. 18, seizing footage taped for the show along with bedding, towels and couch cushions.

Footage is recorded from 30 cameras mounted throughout the house in every area except the home's two bathrooms, according to an MTV producer. A "Real World" cast member told the alleged victim she may have been sexually assaulted in one of the bathrooms, according to court documents.

Neither the police nor production company Bunim-Murray Productions would comment on the content of the videotapes seized by police. The network and production company said they were cooperating fully.

Police had not made any arrests in the case Tuesday.

The woman told investigators she went to a downtown nightclub Nov. 14, where she met a man who was an acquaintance of one of the "Real World" cast members. The woman told police she consumed a drink offered by the man and then blacked out. When she awoke the next morning, the woman said, she was fully clothed on a bed in a guest bedroom in the "Real World."

The woman had pain in her genital area, and a medical examination performed the next day revealed cuts, according to court documents. Police said a person whose name was not released said he found the woman lying naked on the bathroom floor, dressed her and moved her to a living room couch. With the help of a female cast member, the person moved the alleged victim to the guest bedroom.

MTV has aired 13 seasons of "Real World," which documents the lives of seven strangers living together. "Real World San Diego" is still in production, according to MTV, and is scheduled to premiere in January.
Here's how the network describes the series:

"The show follows hotel heiress PARIS HILTON and her best friend NICOLE RICHIE, daughter of legendary pop icon Lionel Richie, as they leave behind the comforts of their lavish lifestyle in Los Angeles for a chance to live THE SIMPLE LIFE. Armed with a Louis Vuitton bag and a teacup chihuahua named Tinkerbell, Hilton and Richie move in with the hardworking Leding family in Altus, Arkansas (pop. 817). Seven family members. Three generations. Two celebutantes. One bathroom. Together they add up to one hilarious half-hour.

The outrageous series focuses on Hilton and Richie, who must roll up their Chanel sleeves and get their manicured hands dirty as they try to adjust and fit into a world far different from their own. From cleaning chicken coops and pumping gas to hitting the town and picking up guys, Hilton and Richie make waves as this provocative fish-out-of-water series unfolds. The pampered princesses once famous for dancing on tables will now have to clean them. From the inner circle to the quilting circle, the burning questions still remain: Will they survive THE SIMPLE LIFE, and will this small town survive them?

"A Simple Life" is a "Green Acres"-like contrivance from the producers of MTV's "The Real World," dumping Hilton and her equally vacuous pal, Nicole Richie, daughter of singer Lionel Richie, onto a gracious, hospitable small-town Arkansas farm family that deserves better as their houseguests teeter from amusingly stupid to downright contemptible.

The short-run series doesn't debut until Dec. 2, but Fox's relentless prime-time promotion of the series already has piqued considerable curiosity -- curiosity being a sensation seemingly foreign to these "celebutante" party girls who are forced to make do without credit cards, cell phones and their usual umbilical support as they play 30-day tourists in the real world.

Paris Hilton indicated in the week of November 22, 2003 that she was "embarrassed and humiliated" that the homemade sex video she shot three years ago with then-boyfriend Rick Salomon had been released. Her boyfriend filed a $10 million slander lawsuit against Paris Hilton whom he made this sex video with three years ago. It's obvious that Paris Hilton was an active participant in making this video but she and her family have waged a what her boyfriend has called a "cold, calculated and malicious campaign" to portray Salomon as a rapist to protect her image. This video shows that is simply not true.

Salomon, the estranged husband of "Charmed" actress Shannen Doherty, contends in the lawsuit that the defendants "implied to the press" that Hilton was incapacitated and was therefore sexually assaulted during the 27-minute video. In the suit, Salomon states that the Hilton "posed and preened" during the video, said "hi" to the camera and stops to answer her cell phone. Hilton, who was 19 when the tape was made, is soon to star in Fox's new reality series, "The Simple Life," set to debut December 2. In the show, she leaves the urban social scene to live in a rural, working-class environment.

Paris Hilton was born February 17, 1981, to Rick and Kathy Hilton, making her the great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, founder of the Hilton hotels and source of the family fortune -- estimated at $300 million. Her grandfather, Conrad "Nicky" Hilton, Jr., also brought some notoriety to the family, as he was the first of Elizabeth Taylor's many ex-husbands. Paris' younger sister, Nicky (born in 1983), shares the throne as co-heiress of the Hilton empire.

Growing up in Manhattan's ritzy Waldorf-Astoria, the family's New York home, as well as other Hilton digs in Beverly Hills and the Hamptons, Paris didn't seem to yearn for much. Even after graduating from high school, college didn't appeal to her. So, around the year 2000, Paris decided to branch out and become famous.

Paris Hilton began to make a name for herself as a model and soon began appearing in shows for designers such as Marc Bouwer and Catherine Malandrino, and she later completed an ad campaign for Iceberg, an Italian label. In addition, Paris Hilton has posed for spreads in national magazines such as GQ, Vanity Fair and FHM; she was most recently profiled, along with her sister, in People magazine.
